Tara Sutaria shares her grandmother’s DIY face mask recipe with Vogue

On the heels of her debut in film Student Of The Year 2 with Ananya Panday and Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria has another new job to be proud of. She is now the new (and first!) brand ambassador for Bobbi Brown India, with whom she’ll launch two new lip shades. “I’ve always loved Bobbi Brown. When I was 16, we went to London one summer, and I used all my pocket money for the trip on makeup. So it is super serendipitous that we are collaborating now,” she says. We chatted with her about favourite look from her debut film, the music she listens to while working out, and the reason she takes the longest in the hair and makeup chair on set.

She frequently reminiscences on her time on the Student Of The Year 2 set. “What was fun about it is that we got to experiment so much with our hair and makeup. Every scene and every song was so well thought out and designed to the T. In the song “Jawaani Deewani”, we were inspired by Coachella (a nod to boho-chic) for the braids, but we amped it up with glitter liner and fun lipstick shades.” Since she’s a beauty enthusiast herself, she definitely takes the longest time to get ready on set. “Tiger is out of the hair and makeup chair in like 15 minutes. Ananya is pretty quick too. I take my own sweet time. I listen to music usually, especially tracks from the ’50s and ’60s. I’m pretty old school. When my team gets done with my hair and makeup and I have a little time, I like to sit them down in the chair and do theirs. It lets me practice my skills” she says.
